About Fun

Monet came into my life by the greatest of chances. He had been bought as a puppy by one of my clients, who had also taken a one-year-old male Patou from my kennel. By the time Monet was 6 months old, the confrontations between the two males had become an unmanageable daily affair; his owner judged Monet’s character too difficult and put him up for adoption through the SPA. I heard of it and I decided to take him back, without knowing his bloodline at all, on the strength of a few photographs of his wonderful head! I was more than rewarded by the qualities of this young dog, who took a very long time to build himself and whose physical condition had to be restored… It was once he was at the kennel, in front of me, that I discovered to my great joy on his papers that he was a son of the famous Multi-Championne de France et d’Espagne Tella de Alba de Los Danzantes and of Jason Patou de L’Hourquette. So that I would have an excellent relationship with my dog, I decided to change his name and he became Fun. I gave my word to his breeders, Mr Capel and Mr Massimello, that I would not show Fun, and that I would not even accept a mating with just any bitch. Fun mated 12 bitches and rewarded me with offspring of great quality. Today he lives a happy retirement with a television star. What a wonderful life for a dog! I have seen him again several times and he is still a wonderful, unforgettable Patou. Of his siblings, Fun has without any doubt become the best sire for passing on the qualities of his bloodline, also because I knew how to match him properly with magnificent bitches of complementary quality, despite his cotation 1 at the start.
